Options For Personal Audio Recordings
Choosing audio equipment to record a sermon may be as simple as buying a recorder (CD recorder, voice recorder, tape recorder or exploring a higher level of audio sermons through using a combination of portable hi-tech gadgets, PC multi-track software, PC mic, and PC interface. All of these are very small piece of equipment vs. the old traditional bulky gear of the past.
At minimum, you can may just buy a portable recorder , place it on the pulpit podium or somewhere near to record. This is a typical inexpensive minimum investment way to record.
The ideal newer audio gear is much more similar to studio quality.
In times past I've conducted a three night "Gospel Gadget Seminar" in January 2011 to invite everyone to be advised and instructed on how to not just record sermons, choirs, services, etc., but to turn them into professional like packaged products all of which can be produced at home. A packaged CD would usually have a cover, label, case, etc. Like everything else, it has its own cost but worth the investment. I encourage everyone pursuing personal recording to invest your best into your product rather than just throwing something quickly together.
There is absolutely no excuse for anyone producing poor quality recording in the electronic era in which we presently live. Quality audio is a standard aspect of this generation sound. Really the issue is your priority. Typically, most people are apt to seek audio quality for home entertainment and pleasure. Why not apply that same quality and enthusiasm into recording sermons, choirs, Church services, etc. To do so isn't expensive as you may assume. But have you explored any options for rendering personal recordings? If not, you can only expect mediocre sound. DON'T DO IT1 Seek quality as much as you can afford.
